Rwenzori Mountains

Highlights
Day 1: Starting from the trailhead at Nyakalengija, hike through the dense, misty tropical rainforests. Expect to see colobus monkeys and various bird species.
Day 2-3: Ascend through the bamboo and heath zone, encountering giant heathers and lobelias. Reach the first high camp and acclimatize.
Day 4-5: Continue through the alpine zone, characterized by tussock grasses and giant groundsels. This zone is home to Rwenzori red duikers and more bird species.
Day 6: Reach the final high camp. Prepare for the summit push with acclimatization hikes and rest.
Day 7: Summit day involves a pre-dawn start to navigate glaciers and rocky outcrops. Use crampons and ropes for the final technical sections to reach Margherita Peak. Enjoy stunning views of the surrounding peaks and the Congo basin before descending.

Kilimanjaro Mountain Tours
Experience: Climbing Kilimanjaro to reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, involves choosing from several well-established routes.

Highlights
Marangu Route (5-6 days): Known as the “Coca-Cola” route, it is the only one with hut accommodations. Easier but less scenic. Pass through rainforest, moorland, and alpine desert.
Machame Route (6-7 days): Popular for its stunning scenery, traversing through five diverse climatic zones. Requires more physical effort and camping in tents.
